How to measure your feet

Four short steps. You'll trace one foot on paper, measure it, and take a photo from above — then fill in the form below and we'll match you to the right size.

Why we ask, instead of handing you a size chart

Fit isn't one number. The same foot takes a different size in an Oxford than it does in a loafer, and a high instep or a broader forefoot changes everything a chart can't see. So rather than leave you guessing, we start with a few real measurements and a photo — then someone who knows exactly how each of our lasts and patterns runs matches them to your feet. You get a recommendation, not a guess.

And don't worry if you don't see your fit online. Our product pages list full sizes only, with no width options — but we make half sizes and wider fits to order. If a standard size won't sit right on your foot, we'll say so and recommend the exact fit to ask for in that style. A fitting expert makes that call — so it's guidance, not guesswork.

1On paper

Trace your foot against a wall

Place a sheet of paper on a hard floor with one edge pushed against a wall. Stand on it with your heel touching the wall. Hold a pencil straight up — vertical, not leaning — and draw all the way around your foot.

Stand, don't sit.

Your foot spreads when you put weight on it. Keep your weight on the foot you're tracing.

2On paper

Measure length & width

From your tracing, measure two straight lines with the ruler:

Length — from the heel line to the tip of your longest toe.
Width — straight across the widest part of the outline.

Write both numbers down — for example 250 mm long25 cm long and 110 mm wide11 cm wide.

Measure both feet.

They're often slightly different. Send us the numbers for each, and we'll size to the larger one.

3A photo

Photograph your feet from above

Stand tall and take a photo looking straight down at both feet, flat on the floor. This shows us your foot shape and how high your instep sits — the two things a tracing can't capture.

What's the instep?

It's the raised top of your foot. A high instep needs more room — the photo helps us judge it.
